Easter at Home on Tap

Easter at home or away is a time to enjoy beer. Once you are past the easter egg part of your life, it only makes sense that beer is the next pleasure. This bunny pictured below is my kind of bunny. Last Easter at home, on the tap was something that could only be described as a New Age Belgian.
Consisting of Australian Pale malt and Wheat with a touch of Oats ( Kinda like breakfast, but more fun.)
It was fermented with Abbey Yeast from the finest Trappist monks, and double dry hopped with classic Aussie Vic secret and America’s finest Mosaic.

A mixed up conglomerate of international cooperation and goodwill. Just like signing a contract to build a bunch of expensive nuclear submarines, but with Belgium.
Coming in at a nice 5.5%, the blending of the citrusy hops and the spicey yeast character worked well, or different anyway. This little ripper is an “Elevensy” almost sessionable, a lawn mower beer if you will, designed for sitting around on an Easter Sunday watching the kiddies run around looking for chocolate eggs and bunnies.
4kg Pale Ale
600g Wheat
250 G Rolled oats
Vic secret in boil 60min for bittering
Vic Secret and Mosaic in at 10min for bang
and again at Whirlpool for more bang.
Pressure fermented at 18 deg with Fermentis Safale Be 256 ( this yeast tolerates a much higher alcohol content beer as well. If you want. )
2 weeks in the fermenter 1 week cold crash with finings to get a crystal clear ale.
Kegged and gone in no time.
This years Easter also includes beer, but someone else's. A trip to Canberra to reacquaint with a couple of my favorite breweries that have put our Nations capital on the map. Bent Spoke is a great beer experience, their Crankshaft IPA is always up there in my top few rated beers, my go to if I'm in a bottlo, but their on tap experience is even better, especially if dark beers are on your radar. I try not to miss this place whenever I'm close or travelling through. The other is Capital Brewing. What a great venue and vibe. Lunchtime here is hectic. Thousands of people enjoying the place with food and beer options galore.

Brew Love. Andrew
