Oatcream Ipa.

Having tried a few of this style at my local super brewer Mountain Culture and not being able to drive home, I had a cunning plan.  This is my 3rd attempt at the style and is pouring nicely at the home bar with a stomping 8.5%.

Double dry hopped with shitloads of Eclipse, Citra and Mosaic. So many Oats it has the mouthfeel  of  warm breakfast porridge on a cold winters morn. And will drop you on your arse giggling after a few pints.

Pouring for a short time only, as I know it will be a sneaky afternoon refill beer.  For a good time see Tap no. 3.   Contains Lactose, so If intolerance is your thing, take the little pill, put ya big boy pants on and dive in. You don’t need to count beers after 2, as you're not driving anywhere, this was my cunning plan.

20 Litres at about 8%

5kg Pale ale malt or Pilsner

1.4kg Wheat Malt

1kg Rolled oats

0.5 Kg Lactose

Enough Dextrose to get Og up to 1.075 or so

150g hops in at 15min I used Citra , Mosaic and Eclipse or Amarillo ?? 50g each

Same hop charge at day 3 after high Krausen

and again at start of cold crash.

Really important to get your additions done without oxygen ingress and transfers to be 02 free as well, as we don't want this hop monster to oxidize

Expensive little beer to produce with all those hops. I suppose that's why its costs $15 a schooner in a taproom.

Home brewed cost about $4.00 a schooner :) Big Smilie face.

Brew Love Andrew.
