Brew Love. Drinking Local

I'm in a pretty good place at the moment, not mentally or anything, I'm in Brew Mountains Brewery bar at Valley Heights having an Ipa. Craig has opened this place to have a locals bar, small and cosy, with all sorts of peeps sitting around chatting and laughing. Its perfect. I'm not a regular but try and pop in for a quick one on a Friday after work as its on the way home and next door is my coffee roaster, or rooster Tim.

Problem is, Mountain Culture at Emu Plains is also on the way home.
Dj and Harriot have done a massive effort here considering they only opened their Katoomba tap room at the start of covid, and to sit at the Emu Plains facility with all that stainless in full view is amazing. Not to mention the beer.
I love to support locals and love to see someone with a passion having a go and that's what Craig and Dj have done although on completely different scales.

There are a few other new breweries in Western Sydney too, it's great to see and I hope there's room for more.
I was in Mudgee recently and there are some good ones out there too.
BUT.... to drink truly local, you have to brew at home and drink at home, cause you gonna sleep at home anyway.
Any beer you want, any strength, no need to drive home, already there, and at a price that is cheaper per schooner than a soda water at the pub.

Doesn't cost much to setup a small brewing system and doesn't cost much to setup a small tap system and doesn't cost much for ingredients ( See Habit six brew supplies) .

What you get is all the good stuff, admiration from your peers, a chance to play with your creative side, a start to that little fantasy of owning a tap room that every home brewer has at some time, and the skill to make something that will sustain you, your family and friends when the zombies take over the streets.

Brew Love .......... Andrew
